I'm Marlaina, but you can call me "M". I'm one of the founding members of Nightbloom. My pronouns are she/her/they.
I've been tattooing since 2015 and did a formal apprenticeship in San Diego county. I moved to Los Angeles in 2017 after a lifelong love and fondness for this city having grown up only about an hour away from this diverse and unique place. You either love it here or hate it but I love this city and I’m grateful for the friendships, clientele and shops that have had me through the years. This is home.
My favorite things to tattoo are animals and nature with a big emphasis on fun composition and blending different styles to create something uniquely you. I am accomplished in a few different styles mainly illustrative and fine line with some traditional, folk art and neo-traditional influences. I also adore doing pet portraits that’s one of the most special things I get to do for my clients.
I love working in black and grey or color or a mix of the two!
My focus with my clients is primarily that of comfort, safety, honesty, and open communication. I want you to feel comfortable enough to ask to move your stencil or to adjust something you may not love about your design. It’s so important to cultivate those relationships with people and create dynamic that works for both of us and gives you a long lasting, tattoo that will age well and stand the test of time. One of my many reasons for starting NightBloom was cultivated that space and culture in my own studio and nurture long lasting client/artist relationships. I often use my art in advocating for certain causes as you will see the longer you follow my work. I have an ongoing tattoo campaign to raise funds for my family Ali, Rania, Alma and Aseel in Gaza.
